Immediate Transfer: I will start by having students use target words like nutrient or absorb (linking Term 3 Topic/Inquiry- Healthy Body and nutrition) in structured sentence frames right after interacting with the word wall.
Independent Activity (Near Transfer): I will challenge them to apply these same words to a new context, such as writing a healthy menu description for an athlete.
Far Transfer: Weeks down the road, I will ask them to use the vocabulary metaphorically—explaining how a car or a plant needs "fuel" to function—and use strategies like "word association" and "Which would you?".
